We are looking for a team player to join a truly unique collaborative practice model! Our position is for a full-time full-scope CNM to care for women and their families’ at the Vidone Center at Yale-New Haven Hospital Saint Raphael’s Campus and outpatient at our Yale Medicine faculty practice. This position brings a great work-life balance while being able to provide compassionate care for patients. A typical work week is two days in the office and 2x12 hour shifts on labor and birth. In addition to a cadre of amazing midwives, we have a wonderful collegial team of physicians who are in-house and extremely supportive of physiologic birth, vaginal birth after cesarean, and external cephalic version, which allows us to have a low cesarean rate and optimize care for our patients, even those that develop obstetric and medical complications. We are Baby-friendly, offer nitrous oxide, intermittent auscultation, gentle cesarean, water immersion, delayed cord clamping, and aromatherapy. Our highly skilled labor and postpartum nurses are proud of their active roles in labor support, skin to skin, early breastfeeding, and lactation support. We have a birthing cub chair and birthing barres, designed a walking path for early labor, and support a thriving doula program. We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm who can help us imagine how we can make our model even better!

Vidone Birthing Center at the St. Raphael Campus of Yale-New Haven Hospital has over 1000 births per year. Every woman and baby is cared for within a collaborative model of midwifery, nursing, obstetrics, and pediatrics.
