Directs the department's activities and resources to ensure alignment with the mission, values, and objectives of the department and organization.
Responsible for Care Managers and Social Workers providing services to inpatients, observation patients and emergency patients at our North and Central campuses.
Partners closely with our colleagues in Ambulatory Care Management, Behavioral Health, Utilization Management, Access and Revenue Cycle to assure patients are assessed appropriately, receive needed care coordination and social work services, and have careful discharge planning in support of our mission to provide the highest quality care to our patients and their families.
Partners closely with Medical staff leadership and UM/CM and CDI physician advisors in support of our compliance and quality improvement efforts.
Is an active member of and serves as a valued colleague and consultant to the executive management team at the hospital.
Is a member of the hospital Utilization Management Committee, Complex Discharge planning group and serves as a subject matter expert in support of capacity management efforts.
Partners closely with his/her colleagues in Care Management across the UCHealth system, including the Manager for system Utilization Management, Senior Director for Care Coordination, Senior Director for Post-Acute Strategic Partnerships, system Care Coordination Council and the VP Ambulatory Care Management.
Develops and implements departmental goals, plans, and standards consistent with the clinical, administrative, legal, and ethical requirements/objectives of the organization.
Directs and evaluates departmental operations, including patient care delivery, information technologies, service level determination, and complaint management, to achieve performance and quality control objectives.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions and continuing education initiatives.
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding.
Coordinates and directs internal/external audits.
Master's Degree in Nursing
5 years of RN experience
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
