Provide primary health care through assessment, diagnosis, clinical judgment and management abilities to restore, maintain and improve the health status of patients. Meets all requirements on competency skills checklist. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc Provide antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, neonatal and intraconceptional care in accordance with written midwifery protocols, which have been approved by the institution's Medical Board, Mid-level Practitioner Section; Department of OB/GYN. Is responsible for reporting identified safety issues such as hazardous environments (i.e. damaged floors/walls/ceiling tiles/unsecured areas) and medical errors, etc.
Special Physical Demands: Must meet requirements of the ADA (attached) Work Contact Group: Patients and families, interdepartmental workers and physicians, community agencies/organizations.?????
?????????????? Master's degree in Nursing required with certification of NP/APN. Three to five years prior experience in related health care setting required. Active New Jersey License/eligibility for National Certification in specialty if applicable. BLS required. Licensure as a Certified Nurse Midwife/Registered Nurse by the State of New Jersey; submission of letters of recommendation from at least two other nurse and doctors familiar with his/her character, ethical practice and practice as a Nurse Midwife. AHA BLS required. BSN required. Prior experience as a practicing Nurse Midwife (exceptions may be granted by the Board of Trustees under unusual circumstances) or a new graduate with appropriate credentialing. Must meet all Medical Staff requirements for credentialing and being approved by the Mid-level Practitioner Section Credentialing Committee Works Environment and Hazards: Works within a well ventilated and well lighted patient care and office area.??
