On behalf of Orlando Health, a $3.8 billion not-for-profit healthcare organization in Orlando, FL, MillicanSolutions, a retained executive search firm specializing in executive and physician leadership, is pleased to announce a search for an outstanding leader to be the new Senior Vice President of Orlando Health and President, Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies (WPH).
The President will provide leadership, vision and oversight for the strategic and operational direction for WPH. This individual will successfully implement and monitor the performance of both long-range strategies and short-term and mid-range plans to meet financial, revenue and operational objectives and goals. This key leadership position requires broad-based general management skills and a successful track record of strategic design and implementation.
Reporting to the Orlando Health Chief Operating Officer, Jamal Hakim, MD, the President will be responsible for leading the development of the women’s health and neonatal services in Orlando, the Southeast Region and for establishing Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies as a nationally recognized leader in Women and Babies clinical care.
Essential Functions Include:
Develop and lead the execution of strategic plans focused on building the Winnie Palmer brand and Orlando Health System as the premier Women & Babies Hospital regionally and one of the leading national hospitals focused on women’s health and neonatal services.
Develop basic objectives and operating plans of the business, both strategic and tactical, and provide exceptional execution of agreed upon plans ensuring the achievement of operational and fiscal goals.
Provide strong leadership and direction to ensure that WPH is operationally successful in the areas of quality and safety.
Ensure WPH is leading the development of community outreach programs focused on serving women and babies in the communities served by WPH through city, state, national and privately funded grants.
Serve on Arnold Palmer Medical Center (APMC) Foundation Board of Directors and the Greater Orlando Children’s Miracle Network Board of Directors.
Serve as a spokesperson and advocate at the local, state, regional, and national level to influence legislation that could impact the delivery of health services to women and babies.
Function as an active member of the senior executive team and build collaborative relationships between WPH and the other hospitals/business units within the system. Work within the system to maximize WPH’s success through effective utilization of system resources.

Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies has a total of 350 beds of which 142 beds are in the NICU and is dedicated exclusively to the unique healthcare needs of women and babies in a caring, family-centered environment. An extraordinary Orlando Health facility, Winnie Palmer is home to leading physicians, surgeons and specialists, as well as one of the nation’s largest and most successful neonatal intensive care units. Physicians provide specialized care that covers all facets of women's health, from comprehensive gynecological services and minimally invasive surgeries to obstetrics and high-risk pregnancies and births. Their women’s emergency room or triage area is one of the largest and busiest in the country and has approximately 50,000 visits annually. Winnie Palmer also has a five bed ICU dedicated to women.
Candidate qualifications include, but are not limited to:
Master’s Degree in Health Administration, Business or related discipline
10 -15 years of progressive senior/executive healthcare operational leadership experience; also experience within an integrated healthcare system is preferred
Demonstrated success in improving operational performance in the areas of quality patient care and satisfaction; physician employee satisfaction, and strong financial performance as measured through quantifiable metrics
Knowledgeable of Women’s Health issues and innovations through active involvement/benchmarking nationally.
