University of Tennessee Medical Center seeking Certified Nurse Midwives
July 12, 2018
Full Time - Experienced
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
The University Midwives are seeking Certified Nurse Midwives who are motivated, caring, thrive in a collaborative environment and would enjoy helping build and grow UT hospital’s first Midwifery practice! Our team currently consists of one full time and one part-time midwife and we are looking to hire 2-3 additional CNMs, with both full time and part time positions available. The University clinical staff and administrators could not be more excited to have us and are very supportive of increasing our midwifery presence in the hospital. We have an awesome opportunity to build a thriving practice and increase access to midwifery care for families in our region. Come join us!
CNM team members will be expected to practice full scope midwifery care including outpatient well woman/gyn exams, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum and post-partum care in the setting of a busy academic medical center. We have our own practice, but work closely and collaboratively with our Medical Director, Nursing, Physician and Resident colleagues, who are supportive and available when needed, 24/7. The University CNMs will work together to build their call and clinic schedule, develop clinical guidelines, participate in the education of Residents, work to reduce primary cesareans by promoting normal physiologic birth, problem solve and participate in continuous quality improvement and shared decision making, as the practice grows.
A minimum of 1-2 years experience is preferred at this time. We are looking for applicants who are excited to build something new and work in a highly supportive, academic hospital environment to support physiologic birth for a diverse community of low risk women. Knoxville is a very family friendly city with access to an abundance of fun activities including hiking and biking trails, great restaurants, music, shopping and events. The hospital is located in close proximity to downtown, has a great reputation in the community for excellent service and also provides an attractive benefits package for full time employees.
Please reach out with any questions you may have! We thank you for your interest and look forward to reviewing your resume and cover letter.
