JOB SUMMARY: The Certified Nurse Midwife functions and works as a part of a team and manages obstetric, gynecologic and neonatal care of selected group of patients. Essential functions include; providing full scope of nurse-midwifery care to patients within assigned clinics/ units; serving as a clinical liaison for staff in Maternal child units; participating in unit/ clinic staff meetings and conferences; and maintaining medical records. The Certified Nurse-Midwife also performs related duties as required. Accountable to the Community Health Director for non-medical related issues and performance of goals and Medical Director for all medical related issues.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: • Graduation from a Masters level educational program within 5 years of hire.
Experience: • Minimum of 2 years experience as midwife or acute care experience as an RN in Labor & Delivery. • Bilingual (English/ Spanish) preferred
Training: • Evidence of current continuing education or enrollment in the continuing competency assessment program Of ACNM
License / Certification: • Current California Nurse-Midwife certification by evidence of Primary Source Verification • Current California RN License by evidence of Primary Source Verification • Current California Furnishing certification (within nine (9) months of hire date) by evidence of Primary Source Verification • Current BLS certification • Successful completion of Medical Staff Credentialing process prior to hire
