Join our dynamic, energetic, and cheerful midwifery faculty team. It's a great opportunity to work with a variety of students from around the country in our unique initiative program. We are looking for either a doctorally prepared-or enrolled in a doctoral program-midwife. As this is a school of nursing, the candidate will need to be eligible for RN licensure in Virginia.
This is a 9-month (possibly 12 month) full-time position in a hybrid education model. The program includes a unique initiative with several outstanding universities to expand education opportunities for educating midwives. The on-site requirement for this position is twice yearly during our immersion intensive before students begin their clinical experience-in the fall and in the spring.
Faculty member will be assigned teaching responsibilities in the Nurse Midwifery program, clinical supervision, student advisement, scholarship and service commitments to the School, University and professional community at large.
Doctoral degree preferred-applicants enrolled in a doctoral program will be considered. Candidate must hold or be eligible for an unencumbered Virginia RN license and APRN license in Virginia. Must be eligible to work in the United States. Teaching and scholarship experience preferred.
Note: A pre-employment background check and drug screen will be required as a condition of employment. If driving on University business is a requirement of the position, an acceptable driving record is required as well.
