Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Join our autonomous, 13 year old, midwife owned practice in Pennsylvania Dutch country. This vibrant and growing practice is turning away women because we need another CNM.
We attend about 100 births annually. About 10 percent are homebirths. The rest are in our licensed, CABC accredited birth center or our collaborative hospital (providing continuity of care). We offer water birth and nitrous.
We provide full-scope midwifery care to a diverse population, themajority of whom are from the Plain community (Amish, Mennonite, etc.). Nearly all are committed to physiologic out-of-hospital birth and to a model of self-determination and partnership in health care. In addition, you will have the opportunity to give care for some unique health conditions. Our families have helped us to be designated as an ACNM Best Practice for Triple Aim Achievement.
We are interested in a full time, warm, self-motivated CNMwho can work well with our families and the team, who can function autonomously and has excellent verbal and writingcommunication and attention to detail. You’ll be joining one full time and two part time CNMs who work in the office and take call, as well as our nurses, lactation consultant, practice manager, financial coordinator and insurance biller. There is also the possibility of becoming a member of our management team.
We enjoy great relationships with a number of providers in our region beginning with our Medical Director and our collaborative OB/CNM practice at our transferring hospital. We participate in OB department meetings for policy and procedure development and case review. A local MFM service does ultrasounds at our office and their perinatologists are available. The Clinic for Special Children provides consultation to us and comprehensive care to children and adults with genetic and other complex medical disorders.
This is a beautiful semi-rural area with many lively growing towns. It is close to the metropolitan areas of Lancaster, Harrisburg, Philadelphia, Lebanon and Reading (and two-three hours from New York City and Washington, D.C.). Many different area school districts are nearby. A life-work balance may be best obtained if you live within 20-30 minutes of the birth center, thereby taking call from home and the local area.
Don’t miss this opening in our exemplary midwifery practice serving our wonderful families!
