Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Performs in a Registerd Nurse role under the scope of practice of a Registered Nurse. Does not function or document, in any capacity, as an advanced practicer All Nurse Practitioner,Certified Nurse Midwife experiences are in a shadow capacity only. Performs patient assessment and triage. Conducts patient/family/significant other education and documents appropriately as a Registerd Nurse. Provides nursing care. Meets the qualifications to provide care for patients in the specific age range on their assigned nursing area.
Performs initial assessment and triage of patients based on information obtained pertinent to presenting condition.
Keeps track of pertinent procedure and laboratory results, discusses with physician, and returns call to family and patient regarding the results and plans.
Assists with arranging appropriate follow-up for the patients.
Answers and returns phone calls from established patients and their families and assess the needs of patient and family.
Discusses plan with the physician and relays information to the family and patient; documents in the electronic medical record as an RN.
Obtains or assists in the preauthorization process for medications, diagnostic studies, and treatments.
