Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
Join our autonomous 14-year-old midwife-owned practice in the Pennsylvania Dutch country. This vibrant and growing practice is turning away women because we need another CNM.
We attend about 110 births annually. Most births are in our licensed, CABC accredited birth center in which we offer water birth and nitrous. We also attend births in our collaborative hospital (providing continuity of care) and at a few at home.
We provide full-scope midwifery care to a diverse population, many of whom are from the Plain community (Amish, Mennonite, etc.). Nearly all are committed to physiologic out-of-hospital birth and to a model of self-determination and partnership in health care. In addition, you will have the opportunity to give care for some unique health conditions. Our families have helped us to be designated as an ACNM Best Practice for Triple Aim Achievement.
We are interested in a warm, self-motivated CNM who works well with our families and the team, can function autonomously, has excellent verbal and writing communication skills, and attention to detail. You’ll be joining two full time and one part time CNMs who work in the office and take call, as well as our nurses, lactation consultant, practice manager and financial coordinator. There is also the possibility of becoming a member of our management team. We offer competitive salary and benefits and flexible scheduling.
We enjoy great relationships with a number of providers in our region – our Medical Director, the collaborative OB/CNM practice at our transferring hospital and a local MFM service who do ultrasounds at our office. The Clinic for Special Children provides consultation to us and comprehensive care to children and adults with genetic and other complex medical disorders.
Our midwives enjoy a sustainable work-life balance in an area with excellent quality of life. This is a beautiful semi-rural area with many lively growing towns. The Birth Center is close to Lebanon (12 miles), Lancaster (30 miles), Lititz, Ephrata, Reading and Harrisburg (all 20 miles), and Philadelphia (80 miles).
