This new clinical setting offers expanded options to patients, including nitrous oxide, as well as ongoing support of physiologic birth, demonstrated by a volunteer doula program and one of the lowest cesarean-section rates in New Jersey. Our Nurse-Midwives are members of a collaborative, inter-professional team with a shared commitment to providing respectful, culturally appropriate care to all patients and families. Essential Duties :Under general nursing and medical direction, utilizing selected standardized procedures, the CNM functions within an organized system for the delivery of health care as a member of an inter-professional team. The CNM provides full scope nurse-midwifery care in the Artemis OB/GYN, The Birth Center of New Jersey, and Overlook Medical Center. The applicant must also attain hospital privileges at Overlook Medical Center in Summit, NJ. Responsibilities and Duties In collaboration with the physician, the essential job functions include the following: - Antepartum care in collaboration with Comprehensive Perinatal Services Program team members and social service agencies;
- Intrapartum care and Birth Center triage;
- Postpartum care (inpatient and outpatient);
- Well-woman gynecology and family planning;
- Clinical education of nurse-midwifery students, medical students, and residents;
- Documentation of care via AthenaHealth EMR system
