Cooley Dickinson Health Care an affiliate of Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (PA, NP, CNM, CRNA) to join our team. The Patient Safety Manager leads Cooley Dickinson Health Care (CDHC) efforts to prevent, identify, mitigate, communicate, and remediate safety hazards and promotes risk reduction best practices, culture, education, and active leadership. This is a highly visible position that involves working closely with medical staff and departmental leadership to continue expanding a culture of safety across the organization. 

This position reports to the Director, Risk Management, Patient Safety, and Regulatory Compliance and operates within established organizational and departmental policies and procedures.

This is a full-time position, that will split their time between an administration and clinical role. It offers a desirable Monday through Friday schedule. The administrative portion of this role will make up roughly 75% of the time and will be located at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton, MA. The remaining 25% of this role, will provide clinical services in a department that reflects the candidate’s area of specialty.

Qualifications:

• Licensed Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, or Nurse Anesthetist in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts required
• Minimum of five (5) years of clinical experience within healthcare operations to include experience in a hospital or ambulatory setting required
• Certification as a Professional in Patient Safety (CPPS) preferred
• Experience or formal training in patient safety, risk management, quality improvement, or related field preferred
• High energy, organized, persistent, and creative individual with strong communications with all levels within the organization required
• Knowledge of Epic electronic medical records system and Midas event reporting system preferred
• Able to function effectively, independently, and efficiently in a stressful and dynamic work environment required
• Ability to teach safety concepts and key skills/tools required
