We are looking for an engaged and enthusiastic midwife to join and share responsibilities with a well-established collaborative team of 2 midwives, 3 nurse practitioners and one doctor. With the supervision and support of Dr. Stephen Wells, you will manage the medical care of patients throughout their pregnancy in a private practice setting, delivering at John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA. Standard office hours seeing both obstetric and gynecologic patients will be 2.5 days per week, with on-call delivery management and an expected individual delivery volume of up to 15 births per month. Office hours 2.5 days per week for antenatal / postpartum care as well as health maintenance / problem focused gynecologic exams for patients whom you have delivered.
Opportunity for full scope women’s healthcare, including IUD insertions, Nexplanon, transvaginal ultrasounds, teen care, etc
Under the supervision of Dr Wells, management of antepartum, intrapartum (labor & delivery) and postpartum care rounds in the hospital
Shared on-call with two midwife colleagues and Dr Wells, 1 night per week (always on an office day), and 1 weekend per month. On-call taken from home unless a patient is actively laboring.
Completion of an accredited nurse midwife program with minimum two years experience as a practicing certified nurse midwife, required
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and educationally diverse staff and clients.
Excellent time management and organizational skills and experience in working within EHR (EPIC preferred).
California RN license, California nurse midwife certificate, A.C.N.M. certification, BLS certification, furnishing number and DEA number must all be current
Must have National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain prior to employment start date
