A busy and well-respected OB/GYN private practice in Walnut Creek, CA is looking to add an additional engaged, enthusiastic, and experienced Certified Nurse Midwife to join and share full scope responsibilities with an established collaborative team of 2 midwives, 3 nurse practitioners and 2 OB/Gyn physicians. Work in a newly and completely remodeled 3,000 square foot office located immediately across the street from our delivering hospital. John Muir Medical Center is Contra Costa County’s Level 1 trauma center that boasts 10 LDRs, 2 obstetric ORs, 35 postpartum beds, a level 3 NICU, 24-hour anesthesia coverage, and an OB Hospitalist program. Midwives have been supported at John Muir for nearly 10 years
Up to 190K annual salary based on experience, with signing bonus
In office 2.5 days per week seeing women for antenatal / postpartum care visits as well as health maintenance / problem focused gynecologic exams.
On-call schedule 1 night per week and 1 weekend per month. On-call can be taken from home unless a patient is actively laboring. Anticipated individual delivery volume is usually up to 10 births per month.
Shared rounding on our postpartum and antepartum patients.
First assisting on cesarean sections is available and encouraged.
Full scope women’s healthcare, including procedures such as IUD insertions, Nexplanon, transvaginal ultrasounds, etc.

Completion of an accredited nurse midwifery program with minimum two years experience as a practicing certified nurse midwife.
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to interact professionally with culturally and educationally diverse staff and clients.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
California RN license, California nurse midwife certificate, A.C.N.M. certification, BLS certification, furnishing number and DEA number must all be current
Must have National Provider Identifier (NPI) or obtain prior to employment start date
