Austin Area Birthing Center is seeking a highly motivated certified nurse midwife to join one of the largest free-standing birthing centers in Central Texas! The ideal candidate is experienced in community birth, an excellent communicator, and a team player. This is a full-time position and salary is commensurate with experience.
Our centers each serve 20-30 clients per month, with midwives sharing 12 or 24-hour call shifts and clinic duties. Each full-time midwife is responsible for an equivalent of 5 shifts per week. A shift is defined as one clinic or one 12-hour call. Our midwife schedule follows a rotating monthly pattern and includes 2 weekends off per month for each midwife. Midwives alternate major and minor holidays off. Midwives work primarily at one location, though they may occasionally fill in or provide back-up to the other location.
Primary Responsibilities: Provide full scope midwifery care in a group practice, including prenatal, labor, delivery, and postpartum/newborn care to six weeks, annual exams, preconception counseling, and contraception services.
Austin Area Birthing Center has been serving the Austin community since 1987. We are a collaborative practice of certified nurse midwives and certified professional midwives. We have two locations, one in North Austin and one in South Austin. Our birthing centers are accredited by the Commission for the Accreditation of Birth Centers.
