Dynamic employment opportunity for a new graduate CNM to join a team of 4 CNM’s Fort Worth Birthing & Wellness Center is a freestanding birthing center located in the Fort Worth medical district. We are state licensed and nationally accredited by CABC. This privately-owned freestanding birth center has two birthing rooms and is located in the Fort Worth Medical District. Our clinic includes five exam rooms including an ultrasound room where our in-house ultrasound technicians provide ultrasound services for our clients.
The center opened in late 2013 and have welcomed over 1100 babies since then. We are currently averaging approximately 20-30 clients due each month.
We are seeking a full-time CNM intern to join this professional team. Our growing practice includes full scope midwifery care providing women's health, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum and newborn care. Once the fellowship is completed the candidate may be offered a full time position with a 5 CNM member team. Our birth assistants are highly trained consisting of either AABC certified trained birth assistants and or registered nurses.
We have three sister hospital based practices and our birth center transfers are seamless and directly transferred to hospitals where we have privileges.
Call during fellowship will be 1 in 4 and the intern will have direct support of an experienced CNM for 6 months. Our midwives always have their post call day off. We also scheduled no longer than a 24 hour call shift on weekdays and no longer than 48 hours of continuous call on the weekends whenever possible. Increased call and/or office will be expected during time off for colleagues because we believe time off should be time off and call and/or office time should not have to be made-up before or after using PTO.
We are in search of a new graduate certified nurse midwife with a strong sense of teamwork, incredibly high standards in their work and life (in all senses of the word), strong work ethic, communication skills, a willingness to adapt to change quickly, a passion for evidence-based practice, and attention to detail. We expect candidates who are excited about the birth center model of midwifery care.
Fort Worth is an area that is growing quickly, but maintains its smaller-town feel in many areas. We have excellent highly rated school districts. It is an expectation to live within 30 minutes of the birth center upon starting a position.
Salary will be 75% of a staff midwife, PTO and 401K offered. The duration of the fellowship is typically 9-12 months. All fellows in good standing who complete the fellowship would be offered a full-time staff position at the completion of fellowship with an approximate salary of Because of the immense time commitment for our current staff in training fellows, we would only consider candidates who would plan to continue employment with us after the fellowship is completed.
Expected start date is February 2022 or March of 2022
Our ideal candidate must:
- Be excited about birth centers and the birth center model of care
- Have an understanding and respect for physiological birth
- Have a strong belief in a low-tech, high-touch and low-intervention midwifery model of care
- Value the results of new research and welcome the process of creatively incorporating it into care
