Summary:

Performs the functions of a Family Centered Maternity Care Technician in collection of vital signs and observation of the patient; in collaboration with the RN, performs basic nursing care for the obstetrical patients for an assigned shift. Is responsible for adhering to all Standards of Nursing Practice as applied to managing supplies and equipment under the direction of a charge nurse; it is the expectation that this position will perform delegated functions as necessary to avoid disruption in patient care within the Family Centered Maternity Care (FCMC) setting. This service is delivered in a manner that demonstrates understanding and support of the Single Room Maternity Care (SRMC) model and active participation fulfilling the Mission of CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini Hospital. It is expected that the associate demonstrate behavior consistent with the Core Values and that the associate shall support the CHRISTUS St. Frances Cabrini's strategic plan and the goals and direction of their Performance Improvement Plan (PIP).

Requirements:

Education/Skills

· Must be able to prioritize workflow on a daily basis. Must be able to communicate effectively in written and spoken form with individuals of various education levels including physicians. Ability to interpret medical terminology and possess an understanding of human anatomy and physiology

Experience

· English required

· Scrub Tech experience preferred
