We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Katy Birth Center which is a freestanding birth center in the greater West Houston area. The birth center is seeking an experienced full-time midwife that can fulfill our philosophies of care and our mission statement; to love, serve, and bless our clients to have the most positive experience possible.
We practice the midwifery model of care, “with woman.” Our clients receive concierge care and support to have physiological births at the birth center or at home. We believe in holistic alternative therapies and modalities.
The practice currently has six full time and one part time midwives. It is a combined practice with CNM’s and CPM’s.
This position is at Katy Birth Center, located at 1002 Ave A Katy, TX 77493.
Responsibilities
The certified nurse midwife (CNM) or CPM is a professional who is responsible for the assessment, plan, implementation and evaluation of midwifery care delivered to ante partum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn, and gynecologic patients
The CNM/CPM performs physical exams, collects and documents data, manages labor and spontaneous delivery, conducts diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, orders and schedules laboratory studies and professional consultations, and prescribes appropriate interventions and medications
Qualifications
RN licensure in state of Texas, Certified Nurse Midwife license in Texas
Or CPM licensure in state of Texas
Minimum one year experience as a certified nurse midwife OR a new CNM graduate with strong labor and delivery background
CPM needs a minimum of 2-3 years of experience.
BLS, NRP
Effective oral and written communication skills
Proficiency with computer technology
Ability to work well with others in a team environment to ensure quality patient care
Strong problem solving and customer service skills
