Join our team at Midtown Nurse Midwives in Sacramento, CA. At our beautiful Accredited Freestanding Birth Center, you will have the chance to provide full scope midwifery care with a good work life balance. Ours is a unique dual practice that also includes a full service lactation clinic in addition to our birth center. We are still growing and are looking for someone with a passion for community birth; experience is preferred but we are also willing to teach.

In Sacramento, we have both city life and nature at our doorstep including being only 1.5 hours from either San Francisco or Lake Tahoe, surrounded by wine country, hiking, lakes and rivers, and are America's Farm to Fork capital. Excellent public schools and an affordable cost of living in California.

Birth Volume: 8-12 births per month

Clinic Volume: 7-9 patients per day

JOB DUTIES:

• Provide comprehensive midwifery care; includes antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, newborn care in first 2 weeks, family planning and Gyn care.
• Provide care in line with the birth center model of low intervention physiologic birth that is evidence based, compassionate, and client-focused.
• Appropriately assess client’s eligibility for birth center care.
• Work respectfully as part of our team of CNMs, RNs, birth assistants and IBCLCs.
• Participate in staff meetings and drills.
• Participate in quality assurance.

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATIONS:

• Certified by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB)
• Active RN, CNM, and Furnishing licenses in the State of California (or Pending)
• Current NRP and BLS certifications

Prefer experienced applicants but a fellowship opportunity may be available for new grads.
