Eastside Gynecology and Obstetrics is seeking a full-time Certified Nurse Midwife!
The nurse midwives of Eastside Gynecology and Obstetrics are looking for a full time CNM to join our practice. We are a private CNM practice currently with 5 CNMs located on the east side of the Detroit Metro area. We are looking for a passionate, committed CNM who is looking to practice full scope midwifery care. Our practice provides hands on care to a wonderful group of clients, the majority of whom come to us seeking midwifery care and low intervention birth experiences. We provide continuous labor support and also attend VBAC births. Our backup physicians are supportive of the midwifery model of care as is the hospital staff. Experienced CNMs are preferred but we are willing to consider a new grad who is the right fit. The position would involve sharing call and office responsibilities as well as working to grow and improve this lovely midwifery practice. Our office locations include Roseville, Grosse Pointe and Macomb. We attend births at Henry Ford/Ascension St. John Hospital and Corewell Health/Beaumont Grosse Pointe Hospital.
Anticipated Schedule:
Full Time rotating schedule (not fixed but will have advanced notice and flexibility)
2.5 days per week in office (8-4, 9-5, and occasionally 10-6)
1 weekday call (24 hour (8am-8am)
Off post call day
Weekend Call is Q5+ (Friday 8am - Monday 8am)
48 hour weekend shifts may be possible if preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides independent and collaborative primary healthcare and management of care to women before, during and after pregnancy, including care of the newborn
Conducts comprehensive assessments of patients’ health status by taking health histories and performing advanced physical examinations in specialty area
Performs testing, referral to physicians as needed, writes prescriptions, and performs administrative procedures within the scope of expertise, protocols, and available equipment according to clinical privileges
Orders and interprets laboratory and diagnostic tests to establish diagnoses and develop a comprehensive treatment plan
Coordinates the discharge planning process with patients, families, and all members of the multidisciplinary team
Schedules return appointments for follow-up care, as necessary, according to best practice standards of care
Determining the effectiveness of the plan of care through documentation of client outcomes
Reassessment and modification of care plan as necessary to achieve goals
Consults with other specialties and disciplines as appropriate to meet all health care needs of patients

QUALIFICATIONS:
Registered Professional Nurse (MI) license
Graduate of master’s degree in Nurse Midwifery Program, accredited by the American College of Nurse Midwives or College of Nurse Midwifery
Expertise within the specialty of OB as a certified nurse-midwife is required
Experience practicing as a certified nurse-midwife preferred, but we encourage new graduates who are drawn to the position to apply.
