The Birthing Inn is Puget Sound’s premier independent and freestanding birth center. Since opening in 1999, we have welcomed over 3,500 babies into a warm, cozy, and peaceful environment.

We are currently seeking dedicated and autonomous Certified Nurse Midwives—both for staff and per diem roles—who are enthusiastic about expanding their skills while providing outpatient and birth center care. Our midwives are supported by experienced physicians affiliated with the two major hospitals in Tacoma. While hospital privileges are not required, support is available for those interested in following clients requiring hospital transfer. Your work will play a vital role in shaping the out-of-hospital birth experience for families in the South Sound region.

We offer both part-time and full-time positions, with compensation aligned to experience and schedule. Additional effort is rewarded through a productivity bonus on top of the base salary.

Job Description:

• Midwife (CNM; both staff and per diem opportunities)
• 0.5-1.0 FTE position
• Mix of Clinic and Call shifts; Call is from home
• Providing prenatal and postpartum care for pregnant women
• Tending to moms and newborns during labor and delivery
• Performing routine gynecological care, including exams
• Educating moms on parenting and family planning
• Maintaining client medical records
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals and referring patients to specialists when necessary
• Providing emotional support for expectant and new mothers

Compensation:

Salary Range: Full-time $110-130K + Productivity Bonus depending on experience and schedule
