• Successful completion of educational and training program for Certified Nurse Midwife. 
• Current certification by the American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) or American College of Nurse Midwives Certification Council. 
• Active Kansas Nurse Midwife (APRN/NMW) license or the ability to obtain Kansas licensure. 
• Current DEA license.

In 2015, NMRMC opened a brand-new OB unit consisting of 3 large labor and delivery rooms, 2 triage/antenatal testing rooms, and 5 postpartum rooms. NMRMC is a Kansas High 5-designated hospital. In 2022 and 2023, the OB department received the All Around Best of the Best OB Departments by the Kansas Department of Health and Environment for Newborn Screening Standards. Only two other facilities in Kansas received this designation.
