St. Joseph’s Health is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to join our outstanding team in Syracuse, NY. As a Full Scope Midwife, you will provide comprehensive midwifery care to low- and moderate-risk obstetric patients including gynecological care within your scope of practice, such as contraceptive and wellness counseling. You’ll work in partnership with OB/GYN physicians and advanced practitioners, nurses, social workers, diabetic educators, and ancillary staff to ensure safe, evidence-based care from prenatal visits through labor, delivery, and postpartum.
St. Joseph’s Health OB/GYN program is a robust program with an average of 1,700 deliveries annually. Our midwifery team and PCC OBGYN practices account for 750 births per year. Midwives provide care for both midwife-assigned patients and risk-appropriate clinic patients who do not require physician oversight.
Position Highlights:
Schedule: Full-Time, Monday–Friday
(2) 8-hour, 8am-4:30pm, shifts per week in an outpatient setting
(1) 24-hour shift per week in an inpatient setting
1 – 24 call shift per month: Includes call responsibilities with access to an onsite hospital call room and pager support.
Shared rotational call amongst group
Complete the following procedures:
FERN tests
IUD insertions/removals
Nexplanon removals
May first-assist in C-sections (RNFA certification required for assisting)
Circumcisions (optional but preferred)
Requirements:
Board Certification; NYS licensure and NRP and EFM-C
BLS and DEA required
Applicants should possess excellent clinical skills, communication skills and a strong commitment to providing excellent care that is team oriented.

Compensation range is $139,307-$150,583
The posted salary reflects the starting range of total compensation and does not include productivity bonuses, incentives related to quality and performance, extra shift incentives, and other forms of cash compensation as applicable to the position. In addition, providers typically receive a CME allowance and other benefits offered by their medical group employer. Please note that this salary range is provided in accordance with State law and is subject to variation due to the factors noted above.
