The Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) provides comprehensive women's health care across the lifespan, including gynecologic, prenatal, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care. This role includes full-scope midwifery care, labor and delivery management, newborn care, first assist responsibilities, newborn circumcisions, and collaboration with a multidisciplinary Women's Health team dedicated to providing exceptional care throughout the region.

Key Responsibilities
Provide full-scope midwifery care including prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, newborn, and gynecologic care across the lifespan.
Manage normal pregnancies, labor, birth, and postpartum recovery.
Perform comprehensive health assessments, diagnoses, and treatment planning.
Provide family planning, contraceptive management, preventive care, and well-woman services.
Deliver preconception, perimenopausal, and postmenopausal care.
Assess and stabilize newborns, including emergency interventions as indicated.
Serve as first assist for cesarean deliveries and other procedures as credentialed and privileged.
Perform newborn circumcisions and other procedures consistent with training, credentialing, and privileges.
Perform office and hospital-based procedures including IUD insertion/removal, endometrial biopsy, and pessary management as credentialed and privileged.
Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary team members to provide high-quality patient care.
Consult, co-manage, and refer patients as clinically appropriate.
Maintain timely, accurate medical records and participate in quality improvement, continuing education, and departmental initiatives.
Required
Master's or Doctoral degree from an ACME-accredited nurse-midwifery program
Current certification as a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) through the American Midwifery Certification Board
Active and unrestricted New York State license as a Midwife
Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
Prescriptive authority in New York State
Current BLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification
Ability to obtain and maintain first assist privileges
Ability to perform newborn circumcisions consistent with credentialing and privileges
Excellent clinical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Preferred
One to three years of clinical experience as a Certified Nurse Midwife
